My earthly father was a very wise man; a faithful disciple and friend of God, and a true friend and servant to others. So I grew up watching him seek first to understand, and then to be understood; a life posture that has guided me in both my personal life and calling as a wife, mother, educator, and counselor.
So, whenever I get to help someone better understand their value and purpose in light of who God created them to be, I'm reminded it's because he helped me learn about mine as I was growing up.
Even today, though he has graduated this life, his influence remains. I am grateful nto get to share a little of him with whoever God endeavors to help through me.

I'd been pondering John 14:12, where Jesus tells His disciples that whoever believes in Him will do the works He has been doing and greater, so I asked the Lord what He meant by that? Did He actually mean those words literally? Does He really expect us to be of the same mindset?
I thought about it more, and as I listened I heard the Holy Spirit say, "You can't do what Jesus did until you do what Jesus did."
What? I thought, Lord, didn't You stop speaking in parables?
As I prayerfully considered what that might mean, it dawned on me: Jesus spent more time in prayer, more time with His Father than He did among those to whom He was sent. More time listening, leaning, lingering, and agreeing...to the point that His public confession was. "I and My Father are one...If you have seen Me, you have seen the Father...I say only what I hear the Father satubg...I do only what I see the Father doing."
