Have you ever wrestled what it means to be born again OF the Spirit? To be One with Christ as He was and is with The Father? To be a new creation (creature) with the mind of Christ who walks as He walked and does what He did?
Is that even possible?
Some would say that is extreme or unrealistic, for who can actually do what Jesus did? But did Jesus do what He did so we wouldn't have to, or so we could? to His disciples and the leaders of the early Church, it was the norm. The assumption. The expectation.
Why then do so many believers hold a different standard for faith today?
Jesus also said that whoever remains in Him and He in them will bear much fruit. Is that also a stretch? Or, has the gospel of today lost its power because faith has become more about our receiving the forgiveness we need than giving God the worship He deserves - producing a self-centered ideology that seeks joint-heir benefits without joint-heir sacrifice?
While some believers do love darkness more than light, is it also possible that something has been overlooked in our understanding of how faith works?
We believe it's both.
if we confess Jesus as Lord, it's important to wrestle these types of questions to the point of resolve at our very depths – lest we embrace partial (powerless) truth, the same deception that separated humanity from god in the first place.
Jesus lived, mind and heart, out of Oneness with the Father, directing every thought and word to affirm both His identity IN the Father and mission to destroy the works of the devil - modeling what the believer's mindset and confession is to be as a new creature born OF the Spirit to abide IN Him:
"the Son can do nothing of Himself..."
"I and My FAther are One..."
i only do what i see the Father doing..."
I only say what I hear the Father saying."
He prayed, "This is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent (Jn 17:3)."
The word "know," in its deepest sense, means to become one.
Can Oneness with Christ mean for us anything less than Oneness with the Father meant for Him?
If you discovered that you were of royal blood, would it affect how you think and reason?
